May 1994
3 1/2 months of lower mechanotherapy has rotated, uprighted, and aligned the lower canines while intruding the incisors. Note that the lateral incisor remains at its original level and that its space has been largely used up for alignment of the adjacent teeth.
Archwires to date:

             • .016 Tubular Supercable for 6 weeks
             • .021 Supercable for 8 weeks
             • .021 nickel titanium has just been inserted.
August 1993
Examination of this model alone might lead one to believe that bicuspids should be extracted. However, as treatment progressed, it became evident that a non-extraction approach would yield the best overall result.
October 1994
A tubular .016 Supercable is being used again so that the lingually-placed lateral incisor can be engaged. The extremely light and constant force in the relative absence of friction will permit a step up to .021 x .025 braided nickel titanium archwire in 3 to 4 months.
September 1995
This .021 x .025 stiff nickel titanium archwire has permitted the use of 1 or 2 ounce Class II elastics for the past 5 months.
A wire with the unique SPEED cross-section would have worked even better, but was unavailable in the proper arch form.
