| Because this patient would not wear Class II elastics, his upper second bicuspids were extracted. During the eight months of treatment thereafter, the following occurred: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| • 5mm distal movement of the first bicuspids • perfect translation of teeth along the archwire • overjet reduction from 8mm to under 3mm • no appreciable steepening of the occlusal plane if any • only 2mm mesial movement of the molars • 4mm of distal movement of the canines • no increase in overbite |
